Superior Court Judge Stephen J. Taylor also sentenced Jose Lemus to parole supervision for life and Megan’s Law registration, Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp, Acting Chief of Investigations Chris Kimker and Randolph Township Police Chief David Stokoe said in a joint release.
He also can never have any contact with the victim and must pay unspecified fines an penalties, the brief release says.
Jurors this past October acquitted Lemus of unspecified sex crimes that prosecutors claimed occurred from 2011 through 2015, during which the victim was 11 to 15 years old.
He was found not guilty of two separate sexual assault charges and an aggravated criminal sexual contact charge.
Jurors convicted Lemus of a single second-degree count of child endangerment.
